Traffic and Generate Leads tips: You can have all the traffic in the world, but if you can’t convert it into leads, you can’t build a funnel that helps you make sales. Without sales, you can’t make income. And without income, you can’t reinvest in traffic and lead generation.

Before you try to generate leads, you need lead magnets. With something like an ebook or a free course, you can attract potential customers to your business. Once you have those lead magnets ready, you can use different traffic sources to draw attention to your lead magnets.

The following five traffic sources are places where you can find people for your lead magnets. Some of these sources are free and some are paid, but I recommend that you start with free traffic sources and gradually move on to paid traffic sources.

1. Organic search traffic

Organic search traffic is traffic that comes from search engines. You don’t have to pay for this traffic. Every search engine has paid and free listings – if you make your pages appear in search results for certain keywords, you can get a lot of traffic and you don’t have to pay for it.

The only problem with organic search traffic is that your landing pages won’t rank easily in search engines. Search engines prefer pages with great content, and they don’t rank landing pages very well.

You should drive search traffic to your blog pages and then use online tools to convert visitors into leads. To get good search traffic to your blog pages, you need to have great content, backlinks and good page SEO.

2. Paid search traffic

Another method of getting traffic to your lead pages is through paid search ads. Paid search ads cost money, but if you know how to convert your leads into sales, you can afford to pay for clicks. You can set up paid search ads with a tool like Google Ads, where you can set up paid search ads on the Google search engine.

Every search engine has an advertising tool. Explore different search engines to help you search for products within a niche. You can advertise in these sources as well. Paid search traffic is good because search engines will not hesitate to direct traffic to your lead pages. While organic search has difficulty ranking your lead pages, there is absolutely no problem with paid search.

The only downside to paid traffic is that you have to pay for it. But if you can get ROI from the traffic, you can scale quickly. It may take weeks or months to start getting significant organic traffic to your site, while paid search advertising can scale quickly. You can go from 1,000 visitors a day to 10,000 visitors a day overnight. You just need to increase your advertising budget.

While search traffic is a good and quality source of traffic, it has two major drawbacks. Traffic can be expensive if many advertisers are bidding on the same keywords, and your traffic is limited based on keyword search volume.

3. Display Advertising

Display ads are text and banner ads that you see on other sites. Many of the ads are controlled by the Google network itself, but they are not the only type of ads.

If you are a publisher and want to advertise on your site, you can sign up for the Google AdSense program and place ads on your site. (I don’t recommend using this method of monetizing your traffic because the earnings per visitor will be quite low). While I don’t recommend using display advertising to monetize your site’s traffic, it is a good way to generate traffic as an advertiser.

Advantages of display advertising:

  • An unlimited source of high traffic that you can use.
  • Display ads are cheap.
  • You can run text ads or ads with images.
  • You can retarget with display ads.

Disadvantages of display ads:

  • Ads are shown to people who have no intention of buying.
  • CTR (click-through-rate) will be lower.
  • Conversions will be lower.
  • Sometimes you may get invalid clicks on your ads, but you will still be charged for them. These are bot clicks, not real human clicks.
  • Ads are ignored by people and become less effective over time.

Now let’s look at the different types of ads.

Google Display Ads: Google display ads are a great source of traffic because they not only feature ads with images, but also text ads. When you run Google search ads, you can include a display network along with it. Based on search queries, Google knows who is more likely to click on display ads and shows ads only to them. These ads are well targeted and get a higher CTR than regular banner ads.

Facebook ads: Facebook is one of the largest display ad networks in the world. They run ads on the Facebook platform, but they also run ads on Instagram and other sites (the so-called audience network).

Native advertising: The third type of display advertising I would recommend is native advertising. Native ads don’t look like ads, they look like content recommendations. One of the disadvantages of native ads is that the ads tend to be very low quality. People advertise all sorts of things when it comes to native advertising. But at the same time, native ads can get very cheap traffic, and they are great for branding.

4. Affiliate traffic

You can give a percentage commission on sales to your partners and referrals and let them promote your products. If you sell a digital product, you will only give affiliate commissions on sales. You don’t have to give a commission for the traffic that comes to your pages. It’s a free way to get traffic.

5. Referral traffic

You can create a referral campaign and get people to refer others to unlocked offers. Referral campaigns are similar to affiliate campaigns, but there is no monetary commission. The idea is that you give people rewards (mostly digital products) when they refer others to your brand. You can’t immediately turn those referrals into customers. You need to build trust with them through marketing automation.
