Share Information With Facebook

As part of a recent privacy policy update, WhatsApp is now asking users to share information with Facebook companies to continue to use its app

Back in 2014, when Facebook acquired WhatsApp, the latter assured users that their data would not be shared with Facebook or other Facebook companies. A recent privacy policy update that WhatsApp is making its users agree to, is a step in the opposite direction.

The update changes how WhatsApp processes your data, how businesses can use Facebook hosted services to store and manage chats, and how Facebook apps will be integrated more deeply in the near future.

As part of a recent privacy policy update, WhatsApp is now asking users to share information with Facebook companies to continue to use its app.

Users will need to accept these changes to continue using WhatsApp, until February 8. If you’re in Europe, you may be happy to know that the update doesn’t apply to you due to stricter privacy legislation.
