Collaboration Facebook Workplace platform now has over 7 million paid subscribers.
In a recent announcement, Facebook says that the growth is “an indicator that more companies are thinking about how to build communities at work. More conversations around how to create great employee experiences and ultimately — how to connect the unconnected.”
Of course, it’s also due to companies with tens of thousands of employees becoming Workplace customers. These include Virgin Atlantic, Walmart, Telefónica, BT, Booking.com, Deliveroo, AstraZeneca, Starbucks, Save the Children, and many others.
With new features being released to upgrade the user experience progressively, Workplace is steadily becoming a sought-after tool that adapts to the changing needs around remote teamwork.
One of these is Live video which was launched last year. Facebook followed with an improvement of the Q&A experience, allowing a presenter to see details about the person asking a question, allowing for a more personalized reply.
They can also place the question in the middle of the screen for center stage attention and better focus.
The updates also improved the live video experience by integrating Cisco’s Webex video conferencing platform, a collaboration first announced in December last year.
The integration allows users to broadcast directly into Workplace’s video without switching between the two apps.
Facebook has announced that its collaborative platform Workplace now has over 7 million paid subscribers.
Tools like the recently improved Knowledge Library enable workers at the same company to access the same information and content without leaving the platform. Users can now also update their Knowledge Library easily, with external resources.
The Facebook-owned platform already integrates external tools, such as Zoom and BlueJeans, and it now also syncs events with your Outlook or Gmail calendars.
Facebook launched Workplace back in 2016 in a bid to enter the work collaboration space. Since 2019, the platform has been growing at around 2 million users per year.
