Love to cry? You will. Commonwealth/McCann and Chevrolet have produced a four-minute holiday blockbuster using one of the popular Christmas story themes – love, loss and giving. The plot combines lonely widower, loving daughter, community spirit and a dash of Christmas magic. Tears are not optional. Both of the protagonists shed them. The car plays a pivotal role without driving on a torture test or open road. It’s not even the latest model. Instead, it is a cherished item and holder of memories.
And the story is even based on a true one.
Holiday Ride comes with a majestic behind-the-scenes cast – director, Tom Hooper (The King’s Speech); cinematographer. Claudio Miranda (Life of Pi); and score, Rachel Portman (Emma).
The online film is running in shorter versions on social platforms and broadcast television in the US.
