Cloud-based data observability just got easier with Cribl

For enterprise technology decision makers, the cloud often presents a conundrum: How do you balance convenience with security? This tension exists in a variety of engineering and IT disciplines, and data observability is no exception. How do you use a cloud-based tool to monitor the health of an organization’s data, a massive treasure trove that inevitably includes sensitive company data, without putting the security of that data at risk?

Cribl has a new answer to this riddle. Today, the data observability pipeline provider introduces LogStream Cloud, which brings the observability edge architecture, long available to its on-premises customers, to its cloud-based offering. The new feature enables users of Cribl’s cloud-based data observability offering to easily process, protect and manage an almost unlimited volume of event data in real time without compromising the security of that data.

“Historically, a lot of this data is very sensitive,” said Clint Sharp, co-founder and CEO of Cribl. “Organizations want to be able to process that data originally very close to where it is issued.”

Available October 18, the LogStream Cloud effectively moves data processing to the cloud, but does so in a way that protects the security of the most sensitive on-premises data using cryptographically secure zero-trust tunnels. By doing so, Sharp hopes, Cribl will make the cloud more user-friendly for the fast-growing and mission-critical data observation field for enterprises.

As trends such as the growth of remote working and the frequency and complexity of security threats develop, data observability is becoming more vital to businesses. As space heats up, Cribl is literally positioning itself at the center of data observability, offering a centralized observability infrastructure that can connect to a wide range of data sources and observability tools.
